Between the Gasteig (Munich), Wigmore Hall (London), Kioi Hall (Tokyo), Chatelet (Paris), Great Conservatory Hall Moscow), Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Rudolfinum (Prague) and the Philharmonie (Berlin), Janne Thomsen, Danish flautist, appears as a solist world wide and performs with musicians such as Pierre Laurent Aimard, Yuri Bashmet, Joshua Bell, Maurice Bourgue, Jana Bouskova, Bengt Forsberg, Ivry Gitlis, Natalia Gutman, Hans Werner Henze, Steven Isserlis, Janine Jansen, Gidon Kremer, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, Francois Leleux, Mischa Maisky, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Michala Petri, Julian Rachlin, Peter Schreier, Maurice Steger, Viktor Tretiakov, Maxim Vengerov and Radovan Vladkovik. The English Chamber Orchestra, The Czech Philharmonic, Kremerata Baltica, Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Salzburg Camerata, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Tel Aviv Soloists, Kuhmo Virtuosi, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Belgrade Philharmonic, Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Vienna Solists (1st desks from Vienna Phil.), L’Orchestre d’Auvergne, L’Orchestre Regional de Cannes and the Moscou Soloists have invited her as a soloist. Her interest in contemporary music has permitted her to work closely with composers such as Nicolas Bacri, Michael Berkeley, Nigel Clarke, Sofia Gubaidulina, Hans Werner Henze, Philippe Hersant, Giya Kancheli, Peteris Vasks and Benjamin Yusopov. She has won the Danish “Young Musician of the Year Award”, the first of a whole string of major successes at major international competitions; Prize Winner in Prague, Bayreuth, Rome, Vienna, Paris and Boston. Her native country of Denmark has awarded her the Holstebro Prize, the Gade Award and support from the foundation of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik of Denmark. Her studies were at the Royal Academy of Music in London with W. Bennett and the Amadeus Quartet and the Paris Conservatoire with M. Bourgue and A. Marion. In Denmark with Lise Stolarczyk and Toke Lund Christiansen. She appears as a soloist and chamber musician at many of Europe’s leading festivals, including Kuhmo-Finland, Bergen-Norway, Pablo Casals Festival Prades, Aix en Provence, Menton, Montpellier Radio France, Reims, Perigord Noir, Nouveaux Interpretes-Radio France, Sceaux, Montepulciano, Dubrovnik Festival Croatia (Julian Rachlin), Yuri Bashmet Festival Isola d’Elba, Kreuth, West Cork Music Festival, Ireland, Printemps des Arts Monte Carlo, Würzburg Mozart Festival, Sandor Vegh Festival Prussia Cove, Cheltenham, HW Henze Festival Gütersloh, Ludwigsburg, Bad Kissingen, December Nights Festival Moscow and Oleg Kagan Festival Moscow. Janne Thomsen taught at the Mozarteum in Salzburg from 2004-2007, but has from September 2008 started a new flute class at the Hochschule für Musik – Luzern. She is founder of the Holstebro International Music Festival – Klassiske Dage - in her native Denmark, celebrating last year 5 years of success. Performed at the festival in 2010 2014. |
