Tijmen Huisingh

Violinist Tijmen Huisingh is much in demand as a chamber musician and guest-concertmaster/director with ensembles such as Kristjan iàrvi’s Absolute Ensemble, Combattimento and various orchestras in the Netherlands. He was a laureate in numerous violin competitions in the Netherlands and at the International Chamber Music Competition 2007 “Rovere d’oro” in ltaly. Highlights of the past season are appearances at international chamber musicfestivals in Utrecht, the Hague, Schleswig-Holstein (Ger) and Staunton (USA) and the European tour of Janine Jansen’s (cd) project ‘the Bach concerto’s’. He is a founding member of the Amsterdam Chamber Soloists with whom he has played in all major halls in the Netherlands, as well as the Leupold Trio. Their concerts are regularly broadcasted on Dutch national radio. Recently he recorded Astor Piazolla’s ‘Four seasons of Buenos Aires’ with bandeonist Carel Kraayenhof and Vivaldi violin concerto’s with Combattimento Consort Amsterdam. Currently Tijmen is assistent concertmaster of the European Union Chamber Orchestra, where he also appears as a soloist, and he is a regular guest-player with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Mahler Chamber Orchestra and Combattimento Consort Amsterdam. Tijmen studied the violin at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Lex Korff de Gidts and llya Grubert and finished his studies in 2007 at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole under the guidance of Pavel Vernikov and Oleksandr Semchuk in the ‘International Competition Preparation Course’. Besides that he took part in master-classes with musicians such as Viktor Liberman, Donald Weilerstein, Krysztof Wegrzyn and Valentin Berlinsky and with members of The Amadeus Quartet and The Brodsky Quartet. Tijmen plays a 1850 i .B. Vuillaume violin and ai. A. Lamy bow on kind loan from the NMF (Nationaal Muziekinstrumenten Fonds). Performed at the Festival in 2014.
